Recently, new users are leaving 1-star reviews for Hamster Soup, but their main problem is getting the lists to refresh. When you first run the app, you may need to pull down on the list to update them. This is how you update it when you're using it too.
If you have an issue, please use the support link on the iTunes page to contact me before leaving a bad review. With an app like Hamster Soup, the users who are happy usually don't leave reviews until the end of the season. The negative reviews do not help, and it's unfortunate when they are for issues that could be easily solved with an email. Thanks!
A Hamster Soup 2.1 update was submitted several days ago and should be available any time now. It adds iOS4 support, meaning Hamster Soup will support fast app switching. While it doesn't run in the background, this means it will start immediately subsequent times you run it. If you have At-a-Glance enabled, it will be shown when you bring Hamster Soup to the front. This is the fastest way to quickly check what is happening in the house.
One issue pointed out by a user in reviews on the App Store is that the very first time you run Hamster Soup, it shows no information. You will need to pull the list to force a refresh the very first time you run it. An upcoming update will change this behavior and force a refresh the first time Hamster Soup is started, to automatically fill it with content.
Although it shouldn't be a problem for anyone in 2010, with iOS 4 (formerly iPhone OS 4) about to be released, Hamster Soup 2.0 requires at least iPhone OS 3.0 to run. It runs on all iOS devices, including the iPad, although an iPad native mode is currently not available. You will have to use 2x mode to fill the screen on your iPad for now.
